– FINANCIAL PLANNER –
BRIAN SOUDERS
As Brian Souders began working with clients early in his career, he realized that financial success rarely came down to having the perfect plan or the best information. More often, it came down to the decisions people made along the way—when to act, when to stay patient, and how to stay aligned with their long-term goals. That insight continues to guide his approach today.
After graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a degree in Business Marketing, Brian launched his career in 2007 by starting his own independent insurance practice, focusing on life, Long-term care, and disability planning. As he worked closely with clients, he saw a recurring challenge—people weren’t lacking access to financial information, they were lacking a clear framework to make confident, well-timed decisions across their financial lives.
That realization led Brian to expand his practice into comprehensive financial planning. He earned his Series 65 license and deepened his expertise in areas such as retirement income planning, tax-aware strategies, and Social Security decision-making. Today, his work centers on helping clients navigate complex financial choices—when to act, when to wait, and how to align every decision with a long-term strategy.
At Sterling Retirement Group, Brian serves as a financial decision partner to his clients. His approach goes beyond building portfolios or delivering plans—he helps clients integrate investment strategy, taxes, retirement timing, and major life decisions into one cohesive framework. The goal is simple: every decision should work together, not in isolation.
Brian believes that in a world filled with market noise and endless opinions, the real value of an advisor is not just knowledge—but guidance, discipline, and perspective. His role is to bring clarity during uncertainty, help clients avoid costly mistakes, and keep them aligned with what matters most over time.
He lives in Folsom, California with his wife, Olivia, and their four children—Harris, Levi, Axel, and Audrey. Outside of the office, Brian enjoys playing blues harmonica with local bands. When going out of town you can find him four-wheeling his jeep, camping, and fishing.
